FLOWCUT

LEARN FLOWCUT

Short, practical guides. You should not need them to make something publishable, but they help you go faster.

The first 60 seconds

Drop an 8-minute talking-head clip. Choose FLOW ✦ → Build First Cut → target 60s Reel. Preview the proposal, apply, tweak two caption words, export.

Edit by transcript

Switch to FLOW mode. Click any word to jump. Double-click a sentence to select its range, press ⌫ to remove it from the video. Struck-through text is no longer on the timeline.

Tighten pauses and fillers

Transcript → SILENCE → Analyse pauses → Tighten speech. Transcript → FILLERS shows every um/uh/erm/eh with a checkbox. You always see a proposal before anything changes.

Captions in BM and English

Captions drawer → language BM + English for rojak speech → Transcribe. On-device Whisper runs privately; cloud engines add speakers and vocabulary hints. Add names and brands to the Dictionary so they are spelled right.

Magnetic vs Freeform

Magnetic (default) closes gaps when you delete on the primary storyline and keeps captions and B-roll attached. Freeform leaves gaps and never moves other clips. Toggle with the magnet button next to the transport.

Keyboard editing

Space play/pause · J K L shuttle · I/O in-out · ⌘B split · ⇧⌫ ripple delete · B blade · N snap · M marker · ⌘K palette · ⌘J Flow. Press ? in the editor for the full list.

Keyframes and the curve

Any slider with a diamond can animate. Click the diamond at the playhead to add a keyframe; drag on canvas to update it. Keyframes and their curve appear under Motion in the Inspector.

Export

Exports render every frame deterministically with WebCodecs and mux MP4 (H.264 + AAC) or WebM (VP9 + Opus). The dialog shows what your browser supports. Export Pack renders 9:16, 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5 in one go via Smart Reflow.
